I didn’t always have a camera in my hands. Most of the time, it's been a Wacom Pen and a mouse. As a graphic artist, I’ve been creating movie posters, DVD/Blu-ray packaging and marketing materials for the Hollywood studios. I even won a few awards for doing it, including a Clio! The weird part of that is, I’ve been using other’s photography to create the art my clients needed. But there has always been more than a curiosity about creating the photography myself. One day, a friend asked if I wanted to shoot the Milky Way in Joshua Tree National Park in the middle of the night. Since I’m always up for an adventure, I said absolutely!
It didn't take long to get addicted to shooting images of the night sky, which led to shooting loved ones with the night sky which led to shooting loved ones during the day which then led to wanting to shoot people and couples in love throughout the entire day. When I told my husband Ronn, who is a wedding and event florist here in Palm Springs, that I wanted to tell the stories of couples he was designing wedding flowers for with my photography, he was on board. So the obsession began and I had to do and learned everything I could; reading, taking online courses, in-person classes, workshops. From there I just wanted to photograph anyone that would sit, stand, jump, or just smile in front of my camera. Being a photographer to capture and tell stories of beauty and love is a calling that I'm answering.
